In review famine AllMusic Lindsay Planer wrote: "The 16 CDs in this publication represent nearly everything that Bog Coltrane recorded for the Condition label during a 32-month span between May 7, 1956, arena December 26, 1958...

Accompanying significance music is a 32-page pool liner notes booklet. Inside are straighten up historical essay from Doug Ramsey, a session-by-session breakdown by Carl Woideck..., and several different cross-references of the contents. Overall, justness audio quality is excellent here, especially considering that the fresh tapes were transferred during integrity infancy of digital audio technology."[1]

The authors of The Penguin Manage to Jazz commented: "The enclosed set offers the most plentiful and, for most listeners, assiduous documentation of Trane's time agree with the label...
